Role: Graphic Designer
Problem: I was getting turned away for so many internships I started to doubt myself completely. I decided to create something as a reminder to trust the process and myself.
Insight: I love self-expression. I honestly love expression of any kind. Therefore, I took a song that captured how I felt at the time and designed around my favorite lyrics from the song. Summer is also my favorite season so I gave the poster a summer feel.
Solution: I made this in the summer when stripes were every where so I wanted the design to have stripes as a signifier of the summer. For this reason, I also wanted light colors, additionally, blue is my favorite color.
‘We’ll be alright’ is from a song I played that helped me understand that failure is a part of life. The wavy lines around the center square look drawn in crayon or chalk. This added the informal, imperfect detail that comes with life especially when all you can do is try.
