But my first love was myself. I grew up singing, dancing, and flipping. The only problem being I was not good at any of those things. Truly, I just loved having an audience and I soon found what I could capture an audience with, writing.
I started with journaling and essays but a few school assignments later I found my passion in creative writing, reading, and presentations.
A presentation was more than just writing bullet points. I got to decide how information was presented through color, design, typography, public speaking, and so much more. After that, I got to present my work to my classmates and teachers.
Maybe I was talking about World Wars and historical figures but truly I hoped I was captivating and entertaining because I came alive being creative. I wanted my classmates to be excited when it was my turn to present.
More recent internships led me to find out there was a name for what I loved using to captivate an audience that is storytelling.
Still being a reader, I know every story will never be told. There are too many people in the world. How can we ever tell all their stories? I saw this for myself studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France.
While there, I saw more beauty I knew naturally existed but more than that I literally met people from all around the world and with that, I got to see culture up close. It effects everything from how we leave a room to how we spend money.
Ads are not just created media about what products to buy or services to use, they are short stories from various causes and communities all over the world.
Advertisements are everywhere; it is everything we see. If I can tell stories to make ads a little less annoying like I did with school presentations, I believe that is worth it.
Because in every campaign I create it will be clear, I love the world.
