Role: Graphic Designer

Problem: Show that reading is an adventure to different times, places, and worlds.

Insight: Reading has the power to take the mind where we physically can’t go. Different genres and books take place across the world or in fictional locations. Reading allows us to explore those places and other lifestyles or topics we find interesting. We can also find community in reading.

Solution: I made this design to feel like an invitation. The phrase ‘let’s explore the world together’, implies someone is being invited to do something with someone else. Reading can lead to community through shared interests in books, topics, and authors.

The halftone effect for the books created a far away feel for the stories each book holds. It also contributes to the idea that books can take you to far away places you wouldn’t otherwise go. I chose this effect with warm colors in the text, background, and some books so the viewer felt drawn in to take a far away adventure through reading.
